The Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner raises the bar once again

The Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner raises the bar once again with multi-talented MC Roy Firestone on the mic

Award winning host and interviewer Roy Firestone will take centre stage as Master of Ceremonies at the city’s biggest and best sports fundraising event, the 14th Annual Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner, October 24 at the Hampton Inn & Conference Centre.

Touted as “the best interviewer in the business” by Sports Illustrated, Firestone, the original host of ESPN’s legendary UP Close, has interviewed more than 5,000 athletes musicians, actors, political figures, writers and filmmakers. Currently Firestone is the host of Up Close Classic on ESPN daily, HDNet’s Face to Face with Roy Firestone and AOL’s Time Out…with Roy Firestone.

"Roy Firestone is the Wayne Gretzky of Sports Interviewing. His Vegas style show and world class interviews will WOW the Ottawa Sports Dinner crowd. I am personally very excited to welcome Roy to Canada's premier sports fundraiser," says Celebrity Sports Dinner Chair, Stuart Ages.

While he is best known for his groundbreaking and gutsy interviews, Firestone is just as prolific as a performer, monologist humorist, musician and impressionist. He is the author of two best-selling books, Up Close with Roy Firestone, and Don’t Make Me Cry, Roy, and he recently released his first CD, Another Voice, with Grammy award winning fusion band Hiroshima.

Showcasing his acting talent on both the big and small screens, Firestone appeared in the Academy Award winning film Jerry Maguire, TV’s Everybody Loves Raymond and Married with Children, and has lent his voice to The Simpsons.

The Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner is thrilled to have Roy Firestone act as our MC alongside keynote speaker, four time Super Bowl champion, Joe Montana. With such star studded appearances – and much more – this year’s event promises to be the best yet!
